Trip Details

Where did you go? Cape Town City Center- The heart of Cape Town South Africa (The “Mother City”)

How was the weather? Cape Town is sunny, and the water is fresh!

How’d you get there? Flew right into the Cape Town airport, with only two stops for $1200 round trip.

Your new favorite saying? A hangover in South Africa is known as a babbalas and if someone tells a joke that is weak, you tell them it was floue!

What did you do? I finally got to visit the home of the 2010 FIFA World Cup matches at Cape Town Stadium! The 68,000-seater stadium, which hosted eight world cup matches, is now open to the public!

What local foods did you eat? If any fish can be said to be uniquely South African, it must be the snoek. Make a point of being in Hout Bay during August for the annual Snoek Derby, when local fishing boats leave the harbor at sunrise to compete for the biggest catch of the day.

How much did this trip set you back? I stayed at the Mutual Heights Loft for less than $90 a night! Flew right into the Cape Town airport, with only two stops for $1200 round trip. The trip set me back less that $5,000!

Something you can tell your friends: I conquered Table Mountain! Table Mountain is the most photographed icon in South Africa. It is a place of breathtaking views, a haven for adventure sport enthusiasts, a flora and fauna sanctuary and offers majestic beauty - undoubtedly why Table Mountain is one of South Africa's top tourist attractions and I hiked it!
